THE MISSION
BEFORE ADOPTION, LEARN ABOUT OUR
ADOPTION PROCESS
-
Paws2Adopt Rescue follows an adoption process that ensures the safety of rescue pets before being adopted. Read More about Paws2Adopt Rescue’s Adoption Process. Adopting a pet is a serious commitment. Shelters in Texas remain at max capacities, which is why rescue organizations like Paws2Adopt Rescue exist, in order to provide extra support for helping lost or abandoned pets find new, secure homes.
-
After reading our Adoption Process guidelines, take a look at our rescue pets for adoption. If you are interested in adopting a rescue pet from Paws2Adopt Rescue, please complete the Adoption Application with your rescue pet of choice included. Review our list of available rescue pets here.
-
After your Adoption Application has been submitted, review and successfully approved, Paws2Adopt Rescue will contact you about arranging a day to “Meet & Greet” the rescue pet you’re applying to adopt. Paws2Adopt Rescue also conducts “Home Trials” that allows the adopter to bring home the adopted pet on an initial trial basis (similar to Fostering) to see how the rescue pet acclimates to your home environment, with your family and other pets.

FOSTERING MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE
-
Dogs & Cats that can remain in a foster home versus a shelter allow the animal to build important socialization skills for entering their new home. Getting Rescue Pets used to spending time with people, other pets and children can make a BIG difference in their adoption progress.
-
Not only can you help a Rescue Pet build good habits for a home, but socializing your Rescue Pet (especially dogs) can actually introduce or reinforce good habits by learning from each other. Dogs are pack animals - if you have a Good Boy or Girl at home, they can teach good habits to Rescue Pets too!
-
Shelters are incredibly overcrowded - which is a big reason why Paws2Adopt Rescue makes an effort to create a comfortable, safe space for Rescue Pets to thrive or relax. Fostering in a safe space can allow the Rescue Pet to build confidence in a comfortable environment - which makes adoption a breeze when it comes time to entering a new home!
